Q: What is the difference between a Chief and Apache?

The Chief Powerboats 42 Warrior mold was built utilizing the original 47' Apache mold but shortened to 42'. The Chief Powerboats hull also incorporates the addition of our Delta Twin Step®. Chief Powerboats and our Naval Architect from the Netherlands worked together to design the Delta Twin Step®, our signature, and an innovative step pattern. The Delta Twin Step was engineered to maximize speed, efficiency, big sea capabilities, and UNMATCHED HANDLING. The Delta Twin Step DELIVERS! 

Our Delta Twin Step can be ventilated or non-ventilated depending on user preference. Our proprietary delta-twin step® provides increased speed, efficiency, and cornering over the original design. We have 

 

Q: Stepped Hull vs Traditional Hull, what's the best option?

The Reverse Delta Step design allows the bottom of the boat to ventilate the wetted surface to reduce drag while maintaining engagement in the water for maximum stability not only when going straight, but also when turning.

Q: Chief's hull steps appear different that most other brands on the market, why is that?

The drop chine provides added stability and engagement in turns, allowing the boat to be turned safely at high speeds. It also provides a stern lift, which allows the bottom steps to ventilate the wetted surface properly.
