Bobby Saccenti was contacted by a fellow racer and friend from Norway who was interested in having a boat built for an upcoming endurance race called “Venture Cup”.  It was decided that the 42 Chief would be the perfect platform to compete in the event.  Bobby used his years of experience and wisdom to design a boat that could withstand the rigors and abuse that the open ocean delivers. 

It was decided that the boat would be called “Warpath", as a tribute to the original boat that Bobby had so much success with.  The new boat has the same paint scheme as the original boat.  Gail Paik, who painted the original Warpath, was called in to put the same paint job on the new boat.

The new boat, with it’s more efficient hull design, was rigged with Ilmor 725HP V-10 engines, coupled to Arneson ASD-8 drives.  The boat is able to attain far better performance than the original boat with less power, due to the improved efficiency.

The boat was completed on time and shipped to the UK to compete in the Venture Cup event.  The boat ran flawlessly right out of the box, and successfully finished the race in 2^nd place overall.  The boat has since competed in several Cowes-Torquay races and others on the UK Circuit.  During the 2018 racing season, the new Warpath was in competition for the prestigious “Harmsworth Trophy”.  Due to some technicalities in the rules, the trophy was awarded to another team.  Team Warpath disputed the decision, arguing that Team Warpath was the rightful winner of the trophy.  The team has made progress in their fight and is still hopeful that they will be determined the official winner of the 2018 Harmsworth Trophy event.
