Platinum Warrior

This Chief 42’ Warrior Platinum Edition is a full custom build, built to current cutting edge standards and technology levels. We wanted to build a boat that would have all the latest amenities, luxuries, and benefits that a modern boat affords, along with all of the old-school classic looks and wave-crushing capabilities of its predecessors. Modern Engine Technology and Drive combinations enabled us to build a boat that is turn-key dependable, easy on fuel consumption with amazing performance, handling, and speed.

Design Features

Making Your Vision a Reality

The Platinum 42 is a fully composite construction, built with no organic materials. The bottom is solid with NO CORING. Stringers and bulkheads are structural composites. Glass, Carbon Fiber, and Kevlar are used throughout the lamination of the boat which is all vacuum bagged for strength and weight reduction. The boat weighs in at an impressive 11,800 pounds. The boat has a highly custom paint job designed and painted by Dean Loucks at The Art Of Design. The custom interior on this boat features a full cabin below with a porta-potty, a cooler compartment, and plenty of storage. The boat has a huge V-Birth for a comfortable sleep during weekends or overnight trips. Platinum features a full pleasure configuration cockpit that will accommodate 6 passengers. Fusion and JL Audio systems are installed for entertainment, with USB and Bluetooth inputs.

Hull Overview

Platinum is powered with Ilmor 725 HP Dodge Viper V-10 engines, with Ilmor Indy Stern Drives. The sound of the V-10’s ripping across the lake is unmistakable! The Ilmors provide awesome performance and reliability while sipping fuel. The efficiency of the Chief Delta Twin Step enables the boat to reach hi-speeds with relatively low power settings, which favors reduced fuel consumption. The V-10’s are installed in a Full Stagger configuration, which allows for a 19” center to center drive spacing. This enables the props to be at optimal drive height while keeping the engines installed at a low center of gravity in the boat, which contributes to the stability of the boat.

I was looking for a poker run/performance boat that I could use to get back and forth to my house on the island in the middle of the lake. I wanted something truly unique. I was intrigued with the Ilmor V10’s. I was also fascinated with the bottom configuration and the Delta Twin Step design. After taking the boat for a couple of demo rides with all of my buddy’s aboard, I was amazed at how well the boat handled. I was also quite impressed with the seemingly effortless cruise speeds of the boat. Unlike most boats that have a “sweet spot” for cruise speed, this boat easily cruises at whatever speed you set the power for. The ride of the boat is so flat and stable, that I am often shocked at how fast I am going when I look at the GPS. It is as if we are standing still while going 80!
